Coaching

Each Coach brings a variety of skills, experience, and attributes that make them a successful leader for their team.

2.

Pre-Season

Planning and getting ready for a new season is important in determining what the season will look like for athletes, parents, coaches and administrators.

3.

In-Season

This is a busy time for all participants that requires planning, resources and communication. Competition is in full swing! Woo!

4.

Post-Season

The end of a season is an important time to tie up any loose ends, set expectations for the 'off season', celebrate the growth and success. Congratulations on a great season!

Therapy Sessions
Our Approach

We want to provide a resource that makes the wonderful experience more manageable for all coaches! This includes veteran coaches that might be looking for new ideas to any volunteer or teacher that might have little to no experience with the sport.

About Us

We each came from a volleyball background with experience in different levels, teams, countries, and organizations. As Teachers we often take on the role of Coach outside of our classrooms. This has lead us to question:

Why do you coach?

Simply put, I coach to provide a life-long love of sport to my athletes.  I remember thinking how dedicated and devoted my coaches were, during my years of playing sports, and realized the time that they, willingly, gave up with their own families to be there for me and my teams. It made me realize that I needed to give back to the community that I was in and become a coach.

25 years later, I still feel the same - even though I have missed out on occasions with my immediate family, I know that I have such a larger family because I have passed on my love of each sport and my competitive nature to build resiliency, strength, and advocacy amongst so many other young people. On one hand, it is great to see some athletes continue on with their sport at a post-secondary level, but on the other hand, it is great just to see the passion that was built in a young athlete to fall in love with the game, just because they had a positive experience.  Many of my former athletes have continued on to, not just be coaches, but awesome teachers and role models, as I had hoped to impress upon them for the seasons, and even years, that I spent with some of them.
